On the evening of Friday, July 24, 2020, Marie, along with 4 others, were on a 2005 Formula, owned & captained by Scott Comia, at Lake of the Ozarks. Around midnight, they were heading upstream on the main channel around the 18 mile marker, when a 1995 Sea Ray, owned & captained by a drunk driver, John Dallas Bennett of New Haven, MO, collided with the boat Marie was on.

JURY TRIAL IS SET FOR THE WEEK OF 7/11/22 - 7/15/22
John Dallas Bennett, pictured above, along with his boat passengers, Dusty Gatzemeyer, Katrina Pelster, Jim Pelster, Brady Rudd, Kayla Thornton, and Mary Ramkin, had left a local "on the water bar" just 10-15 minutes before the collision. Marie was killed, and her daughter & husband suffered severe, life-threatening injuries. Thankfully they survived, but now we deal with the sorrow & grief of the loss of our loved one, a loss almost too much to bear.
Marie was a loving mother, daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and friend to so many.
Marie was on the front line of Anglers in Action & the Big Bass Bash since our inception in 2006. Marie was loved by so many, had such a caring heart, and touched the lives of so many people across this great country of ours.
To say Marie is missed is clearly an understatement. Marie is and always will be in our thoughts, every second of every day!
