2017 GRAND LAKE BIG BASS BASH

THANK YOU TO ALL THE ANGLERS AND SPONSORS THAT PARTICIPATED IN THE 2017 GRAND LAKE BIG BASS BASH. WE HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GREAT WEEKEND OF FISHING AT ONE OF OKLAHOMA'S BEST FISHING LAKES.

HOW IMPORTANT IS IT TO ENTER THESE EVENTS EARLY? WE HAD A SITUATION THAT HAS NEVER CAME UP PRIOR TO THIS EVENT...A TIE FOR 1ST PLACE OVERALL, WHICH IS BROKEN BY THE ANGLER THAT ENTERS THE EARLIEST.

Jim Kane and Carl Johnson both brought in bass that weighed in at 6.02 lbs., which ended up being the top weight of the entire event. Rules state that for overall prizes, the tie is broken by earliest entry. Jim Kane entered this event on May 16th, and Carl Johnson entered on June 9th. Unfortunately it had to be broken, so Jim took the 1st place prize of $50,000 and Carl took 2nd place overall and a check for $15,000. Folks, get your entries in early for this Fall event at Lake of the Ozarks..you never know when this situation could come up for you.
